STORM LINE
In the past there has been some confusion when it came to make a decision on closing the facility because of
bad weather, power outages etc. and more importantly getting this decision out to the community and the users.
What has happened in the past is that sometimes staff couldn't make it in to open up the facility and that
sometimes users in both the pool and arena have made it into the facility only to find the doors locked.
To remedy this situation the facility is asking all users, tenants, staff and the general public to call the
facility's newly developed storm line on our phone system if they have a concern about whether the facility is
open or not. This is especially useful during overnight or early morning storms or power outages. We ask that
all people call CARI's main number at 902-569-4584 if they are wondering about the status of our
operations that day. The ensuing message will let all listeners know if the building is closed at that time or
is delaying opening until later in the day. The line will be updated according to the situation.
I am asking that all users, tenants and staff circulate this info to their associates so that they are
informed about this service. We will also be posting this service on our web site and would like to suggest
that our users do the same if they have a website. We want to get this information out to as many people as
we can and we would appreciate your assistance in doing this.
Thanks.
